Perhaps the most exotic member of the A-list, celebrating its 36th anniversary this year. The November Forum in Cairo is the only FIAPF-accredited festival in Africa. Not much is known about it: there is definitely a major international competition with FIPRESCI prizes and awards for best film, best director, best screenplay, best male and female roles and “best artistic contribution”, as well as programs of classics, debut films, short films and student films.
There is no indication that the Cairo Festival includes any events for film industry professionals.
