The 14th season kicks off with a medley of shorts old and new – favorites from past seasons (including some Academy and Reeve Award winners), plus a sneak peek at the latest work from talented young filmmakers across this country and abroad. Not just a treat for WFF regulars, but a fun introduction to the Festival for first-timers.

West Wine & Spirits, next to Images Cinema, will have a Karlsson’s Vodka tasting before the show!

Don’t be late! The cinema opens at 6:30pm and local band Goodgood will entertain you before the movie begins! Berkshire Premiere

The Irish are good at many things, and one of them’s the gift of blarney. Imagine the surprise of an Irish expat in America, who’s summoned home to the auld sod to attend hisdying dad only to discover he’s been hoodwinked. Resonating off father and son’s stormy relationship: a nurse on a visit (Lili Taylor), a devout old lady, and two curious boys. Blending harsh and sweet; the film is a triumph for writer/director/lead actor Gerard Hurley.

West Wine & Spirits, next to Images Cinema, will have a Berkshire Distillers tasting after the film!

Guest Artist: Lead actor/writer/director Gerard Hurley

Short before feature film: Love at First Sight, Dir. Michael Davies

Location: Images Cinema
Runtime: 96 minutes

New England Premiere

It’s a long way from college hockey player to internationally-known atmospheric artist and Williamstown resident Stephen Hannock. This mid-career documentary by Wolfram Hissen (The Running Fence Revisited) interweaves time in the studio, home life, and shows at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Newcastle and Venice with Hannock’s long associations with Sting and restaurateur/ celebrity chef  Tom Colicchio. Curators, collectors, friends, family contribute to this intimate look at a man and an artist. Mr. Colicchio will attend the screening and the after-party.

Guest Artists:  Director Wolfram Hissen, artist Stephen Hannock, chef Tom Colicchio

Short film before feature: Pearl  Producer Richard Waterhouse in attendance.

Don’t be late! This event is SOLD OUT so you’ll want to get your seat early and enjoy the tunes of local band Wandering Rocks! Rehearsing, composing, performing and recording in a  19th century barn, they sing glorious songs about rivers, fields, landscapes & love.
